i have a 1982 GW 204 fisherman, with a 86 175hp Evinrude,, we put it in the water for the first time this weekend,, and it appears to sit too low in the water at the transom,,, it has a swim platform and even it was under water,, the side outlet fittings toward the rear of the boat where at the waterline, with the boat still,, front sits hi in the water,, just curious if anyone thinks there might be a problem with my boats hull, flotations, etc,, and can anyone advise me of the approximate distance i should have to the waterline at the transom with the boat still , and the weight of the 175,, thanks,, i am new here , and we are restoring the old 204, so i may have many questions, thanks in advance for any help,,, bill

Welcome to the forum Bill, and congratulations on the 204. I have a 1984 204 Fisherman powered by a 2002 Johnson. My 204 also has very little clearance from the water line at the transom to the scuppers. It's a matter of inches. But I have not had any problems in that regard. I, too, am reconditioning my 204 that I purchased last May. Let's keep it touch and maybe we can help each other. Email is jerrydsmithjr@aol.com
