Hi Everyone,

Recent new owner of a 2005 Tournament 205. Super happy to finally have upgraded to a Grady from my previous Whaler.

I was running out to fish the other day, and I noticed that my livewell somehow filled during the run. I had the drain plugged, and the water inlet choc open, but the livewell switch was never engaged. Any idea on how this could have happened, or how to prevent it in the future. I has a towel in there assuming it would stay dry until I filled it, and was very surprised when I opened what I thought was an empty livewell.

Thanks in advance.

if the seacock is left open it will fill the baitwell while running.

Good to know. Thank you for the response. In the future, that'll be closed up until needed.

The filling while cruising can be an advantage since it keeps the well constantly filled with fresh water. The livewell when full will drain into the overflow drain or standpipe. So when using the live well, I would keep the seacock open. If you want to keep the well 'dry' you will need to shut the seacock.
On some boats the same seacock is shared between the livewell and a raw water washdown. Shutting the seacock in that case will disable both features.
