Hey Guys,
I grew up fishing on an older Grady, and I've always loved them. I'm in the market now, and looking. I'd honestly like to find a 22 Fisherman or 247 Advance that is needing repower. Soft transom is ok. I'd really like to replace the transom with Coosa, put an Armstrong bracket on the back, and repower with a new 4 stroke. I am currently looking at a 2000 222 Fisherman that looks like its in really good shape, and it has a good running 2 stroke OX66 225. I know those motors are gas hogs, but are very reliable. What kind of cruising speed, and top speed am I looking at with a t-top and that setup. The gentleman that owns it is older, and I don't know that it has ever been run full throttle. I know all of them have wood transoms, and stringers. My question is, is the floor balsa cored, or is it just marine grade in the stringers and transom? Also, please let me know if you have or know of a 222 or 247 needing a repower, with or without a soft transom for reasonable.
