228 Custom Back Drop

Big thanks to Rick Gianola at Gianola's Boat Canvas here in Reno for making my custom back drop/slat back canvas for my Seafarer.

Appreciate the little things like a new tote bag to stuff it in and sewn in handles to stretch the fabric over the transom corners. And a great transition where the walkaround begins.

He even bedded the snaps in silicone (which I brought to him with a gun-he he).

This new cover will really help keep my boat clean up in the cockpit, the high desert winds throw up a lot of sand and it goes everywhere in the boat storage yard.

I am really impressed with the forethought to include some pull-straps to assist in tensioning the cloth so the snaps can be easily snapped. I had a sloper on a jetboat years ago and pulling the canvas tight enough to snap after the storage shrinkage was a struggle. I had to eventually buy a special tool to hook the heads of the snap.
Kudos to that guy for solving that problem. That nice duffle bag is a big plus also.
