263 chase with single engine?

I am looking at buying a older 26' chase with old twin 175 hp twin engines. If I am happy with 4o knot max can this boat be rigged with a large 300 -350 hp 4 stroke single engine? Has anyone ever seen one with a single?

A friend of mine has a 263 with a single 250 Yamaha on his and has no problems. I would check with GW first before mounting a single 300-350 on the transom to make sure it is suitable for the weight just to be safe. Good Luck!!

She will NOT take the F300 or F350 from Yamaha. However, I believe 300 HP 6 cylinders from Mercury, Suzuki and Evinrude are viable options, but check with GW Customer Service first.
