232 Gulf asked about the cabin comfort on the sailfish. My wife, corgi and I live on our boat for 6-8 weeks at a time in MX. We have found the V-berth comfortable, however are having a memory foam pad made to cover the whole berth area. We seldom have the boat in a marina unless fueling or reprovisioning. We do not cook in the cabin but use either a propane camp stove or the BBQ on deck. One thing that makes a big comfort difference when staying in the cabin is proper ventilation. We have several small 12v two bladed fans and just installed a 3 balde that is on a timer. Very little electric draw for the comfort provided. The proper circulation prevents or greatly reduces any condensation in the cabin. We recently installed an 6500 btu reverse cycle air conditioner and love it. I had a cover made for the forward hatch and blocking the sun keeps the cabin much cooler. I think that you can now buy air scoops that go over the hatch like the sail boaters use to channel additional air into the cabin. Another addition that made the boat move comfortable was a full Delta canvas with Isenglas windows and screens. The full enclosure goes from the hardtop to the transom. I have a small propane heater for the deck adrea that we use when we are in N. CA. We have found the fresh water capacity to be sufficient for a week + but carry seperate drinking water. A water maker would be great but I don't know where we could put it. Are there any other modifications that you guys have made to make your GW more livable?
