Hello,
New to me 2008 305 Express going to install AP and am wondering where most have the pump installed. I saw on the 330 's they put behind the AC/DC switch panel is there room on the 305 to put there as well?

I mounted mine on the shelf in the bilge right in front of the diesel tank. Its a perfect spot as that is where the hydraulic lines T-off and has a short run to power. The black box is mounted on the inside of the electronic tube just below the dash panel.

On My 2001 330 it is mounted in the foot rest compartment below the steering wheel.

Same as FSC60, under helm above footrest, had an Alum BKT made, put some neoprene padding behind and under to help with vibration noise.Screenshot 2021-08-03 202924.jpg

Location may also depend on what system you are installing. My Garmin smart pump is a least twice the size of the Smrad I had on my previous 265. Garmin recommends the pump be close to the batteries. It would probably fit in the spot in the wall on the starboard side of the aft bunk. I talked to 2 Grady service guys and a Garmin installer before I installed mine and they all preferred the shelf next to the Genny.

I am installing a Simrad AP. I am leaning at putting back by the Genny.
