I'm about to install a "fresh" Mercruiser 3.7L four-banger in my '88 Overnighter. While still out of the boat I've decided to convert it to the Delco alternator system that everyone seems unanimously to recommend over the factory stator unit. Has anyone out there done this to their Overnighter? Before I proceed I'd like to know will this conversion fit in the motor compartment? And if so, any tips or lessons learned?
