I have a deal on a 2007 305 express. I'm looking at the Pursuit drummond, Pursuit 315 and 3070 express boat as well as the GW 330 express. Any input would be helpful. I sea trialed a 2007 GW 330 express with the 250's and would like a little more speed. Can't afford a new one with the 350's. So I think the 305 may be better for me.

All good choices. I would also consider the GW 300. There are many owners (including yours truly) on this board. I know at least two 305s here as well. The new new OS315 was very impressive at the last boat show. I still prefer the Marlin but let GW know about some aspects of the 315 they should consider.

We have the 305 Express with F250's and absolutely love it!!! If you have any specific questions feel free to ask....I have never seen any of the other boats you mentioned nor have I been on any, but I can tell you one thing, you won't be dissapointed with the Grady White 305 Express!!!

Hi,
What is the delta between the 305 and the 330? I'd go hands down with the 330. You use motors, but the boat is forever. The 330 was just redesigned and I think the 305 is a bit more of a compromise.
Both nice boats, but I'd take the 330 in a heartbeat.

We have had our 305 since March of 2007 and absolutely love it. We use it for diving, offshore fishing and cruising. We have overnighted offshore with no problems and the FP generator is awesome.

It is just me and my wife. If we had kids a 330 might be in order but for us the 305 provides everything as the 330 along with a substantial savings at the pump!

We have found the 250's to be more than adequate in power and performance. The chill plates are a great feature which I would recommend.

Best of luck with your purchase!

Chris

guys, this is a bit off topic but since we have express owners here....

what's the benefit of the express model over something like the Marlin? I really like being able to easily go forward for anchoring and mooring. And, I'm not sure I'd be comfortable being in a cabin where the only way to look around a new marina or harbor is to go outside on deck.

I must be missing something because I know a lot of folks love their express models. I've been offered a deal on a 2007 305 but just don't know if it would suit me.

Thanks,

Larry

Express

We have no problems whatsoever tying up to oil platforms in the GOM on our 305 Express we have done so in up to 4-6' seas so far and it has not been a problem without a true walkaround, so I would not worry about that aspect. However fighting a fish from front to back is a bit of a difficult task without a walk around, its really tough keeping good pressure on a fish and moving front to back or vice versa. The cabin without windows I also thought could possibly be a problem but its not an issue at all for us, as a matter of fact during the daytime when its bright out, its kind of nice to be able to sleep in complete darkness with that a\c on 67 or so!! The windows on the Marlin one of them is in the bathroom if im correct so you really only have a window on one side anyways.......and if you are wondering about possible odors that may build up on the Express without a window in the bathroom.......that's also non exsistant, the fan in the bathroom of my Express keeps everything just fine! I was dead set on a Marlin before I went check out the 305 Express...........that changed everything, I'm sure glad my dealer kept pushing for me to go check out the 305 before he ordered my Marlin!!
