Hey Yall:
I found these " diamond bright" 20 inch high intensity LED lights at Autozone for $30 which are water proof. They came with a 3m adehevise tape but that stuff does not stick to the underside of the gunwale worth a crap. I then examined the stip and noticed the small diodes and attempted to put a tiny screw in the strip. the LEDs freaked out and when I removed the screw they were fine. Any ideas from folks who installed these kinds of lights?

Also, I installed the stern lights today and used 5200 to help secure them. I have 5200 on my hands and have used acetone and denatured alcohol and even mineral spirits. I got a fair amount off, but if anyone has an 5200 skin removal ideas I would love those too -- lol.

I thought about doing this myself. My plans are to get a tube of clear silicone (that goes in a caulking gun) and just glue them on with that. Silicone works pretty good for holding up to the vibrations, and peels off when you want it gone.

The strips I bought had adhesive on the back (peel and stick). Didn't work.
I ended up cleaning the undersides with alcohol and then used Weldwood (I think this is right) contact cement. The common contact cement you buy at HD. It worked perfectly.
