Auxillary Outboard 226 Rigging

I have a 2005 GW 226 which I am going to hang a new Yamaha 9.9 High Thrust 4 stroke. I will hang it on my OMC Bracket which I restored from my old Grady 227. Yamaha makes a side mounted control but there is not a convenient location to mount it so I thought of changing out the single Binnacle to a dual unit. Has anyone done this kind of installation before if so I would appreciate your advice.

Ed, I have done it on my 208 when adding a yam 8hp kicker. Also the ignition switch was brought forward so all controls are at the helm. I installed a remote switch at the stern so I can raise and lower my kicker without getting back in the boat every time at launch etc. I installed all the cables etc. under the gunnels in a split plastic tube fastened to the underside of the gunnel. there was no room left to use the in hull tubes.
