Bang Plate Rework

I was thinking of removing my engines and having the bang plate replaced or glassed over. I was quoted $2K for the replacement which includes removing and re-installation of the motors.. Wondering what folks think the job requires and what the cost would be. Seems a bit high if just re=sealing and replacement of bang plate and plastic pieces. If it included glassing, maybe not as bad. If anyone had it done, let me know.
What else should I consider doing? I was thinking new fuel lines and rigging tubing replacement - anything else?

I have a 180 Fisherman with a 130 2stroke. No transom water damage but bang plate was a mess. Cost me $900. Well worth it.

Seems to be about right. My bill was 10k last year for exhaust midsections and bang plate glass work. Figure 3k each for the motors and the rest in re rigging and glass work.
When the take the cap off there’s a metal piece that’s exposed. I had the whole thing glassed over and then the plastic cap put on like the current models. Good news is that even though the bang plate looked bad, there was no water intrusion at all. Fuel lines are a great idea.

Glass it over. If you replace it like the factory did it you’ll have to do it again. I had the motors removed and glassed it completely closed and also did the drains in the motor well. Completely waterproof.
