My 2004 Sailfish has a pretty common 3 battery set up. I have owned the boat for 4 years and have not had any issues with the batteries. Question I have is do you replace your batteries on a cycle i.e. one every other year. I am not sure how I would know if one or two or he batteries were bad ?

Don't blame you for wanting to spread out the cost a little. However, you have to replace all batteries in a 'bank'. You have two banks. One bank consists of two batteries that are paired to supply power to starboard engine, accessories, etc. Both batteries should be replaced at the same time. Your other battery is the port engine start battery. You can replace this one without the other two.

Hope this makes sense.

Exactly what Capt. Ed said. You have to replace the 2 battery bank bateries as a unit. If you were to only replace 1, the other, older battery, would pull down the new one and shorten its life...
