Last Saturday, the Port Motor would not crank. Yami 150 HPDI. Apparently it is a dead battery as it started on the starboard battery. I looked all over locally and could only come up with a GP24 625 MCA. The Yami book specs out a 675 MCA capacity. I have read that the 4strokes are very particular with the size of battery used. This is a 2 stroke motor. Can I mess up the computer? Will it start it and keep it running? The battery is used only for starting as I have a dedicated deep cycle for all accessories.

It should be fine. No issue with the computer. Can you tell what the capacity of the old battery was? It might be printed on the label.

I will check the reserve this weekend when I pull the battery. The new battery does not have the reserve listed.
