I have a 84 Tropry I am working on, it has a battery on each side of Transom upper storge box's & its wired for a third battery on the starboard side lower storage compartment aginst the Transom below the Deck, there is no mounting brackets or battery box ,should the battery set flush on the bottom of the hull or should it be elevated & the termenals be level are above the Deck height & whats a good way to mount the battery Thanks Ken

Battery is not mounted flush with hull.

If towards the keel, too low to bilge water.

If off to the gunnel, usually on a piece of glassed in plywood that is level.
This also allows a place to screw into.

Battery box or battery terminal covers a must.

Battery has to be secured from moving around, readily damaged from such handling and can crack internal components. Same failures occur in cars when battery is wrong size or not secured to tray.

Battery box

Thanks for the reply I understand the battery needs to be secure .I need to find a nice setup to mount the battery in the starboard side back aginst the Transom theres a lower storage compartment.I dont really just want to use a plastic battery box ? Thanks again Ken
