Hi-I've got a 2000 Grady White 192 Tournament. Just replaced the old Honda 130 with a 2009 Honda 150. Runs great, but on the water I'm only getting ~30kt (35 mph) and 5000 rpm WOT (supposed to be 5k-6k). Clean bottom. Cavitation plate is ~1" above keel line, and exactly as it was with the 130. Engine sounds reasonable at top end, but just doesn't get the speed I had expected. QUESTION: I'm using a stainless Honda 15"x19 prop. Is the prop pitch too big? Is it lugging? Thanks!

What prop did you have on the 130HP?

What speed did you get with the 130HP?

Was the 130 a 4-cylinder and the 150 a 6-cylinder? Was the tach re-adjusted for the increase in cylinders?

What did the compression check on the 150HP show?

FYI, it's an "anti-ventilation" plate. Cavitation is a totally different thing than ventilation. Yes, some manufacturers even refer to it as an AC plate... they're wrong, too :)

Reach out to Prop God's and have a chat with them. Ken can recommend a Prop for you. He's very good at what he does.

Hi Dennis and Ky--The old 130hp honda prop was 13.25x16. Going to a 150 and 15x19 must have just been too much. Anybody need a nice 15x19 cheap?
I'll check with PropGods/Ken - appreciate the recommendation!
