Best way to Remove Reserve Oil Tank?

Switching from 2 stroke to a 4 stroke so no longer need my oil reserve tank. However, the tank is too large to come out no matter the orientation and have even tried it without covers. I assume they put it in when the livewell was out but I don't want to go down that rabbit hole. Any suggestions for the best way to remove the reserve oil tank? Thinking of pumping all the oil out and then putting it in a trash bag and cutting it into pieces with a grinder. If I had a sawzall I would use that instead.

Is that a Yamaha tank or a Mercury tank?

Do yourself a favor Go to Harbor Freight buy a sawzall

Did you try to remove the tank with all the cables and hoses out the way ? I guess the photo distorts the reality but it looks like the tank would fit through the hole at least as far as the width is concerned if all the lines and cables were moved out of the way

I was thinking the same thing, looks like it would slid right out
 
I think this all comes down to how much fun you want to have with it :)

Careful use of a blow torch or heat gun will soften it enough where you can collapse it in on itself... making it skinnier top-to-bottom.

Other than that, yes any cutting tool would work. Downside to something like a grinder is it's going to throw plastic shavings everhwere. You "might" be able to contain it inside a bag... maybe. Do you have an oscillating tool? That would through very easily and not make a mess. If you don't already have one of these... do you really need a BETTER reason to go and buy a new tool? ;)

Looks like it but even with the covers off it won't come out. Shame because I'd clean it up and resell it online but I think if I pump all the oil out I might be able to only cut the handle off and be able to get it out but should know after this weekend :) Will post results!
