So my wife and I were watching a old John Wayne movie, the one on the PT boats. (dam good movie) Well anyways the PT boats had big honk'n search lights on them. She said thats what we need on our boat. It all goes back to last summer, went 50 some mile back to port, in the dark, and our spot light was broken. (radar was working find) but she like a lot of light at night. Well this is whats replacing the broken lite. At first it looked like a old fashion too old for our boat, but she talked me in to it. So this is what it is. http://store.hamiltonmarine.com/browse.cfm/4,383.htm It the 7" one. SO what do you think. would you put one on your Grady?????

No, I wouldn't.

But then, I'm not in favor of using lights much. Just the glareback from your handrails will impair your night vision.

I guess it's so many years of bridge watches on ships....
