Hello all, Anyone tell me what a brand new Gulfstream 232 with twins would have cost back in 2019 from the dealer ? Looking at a 19 right now , very well optioned with joy stick. trying to gauge pricing as the owner wants way to much . Thanks.

Didn't see one at the NE boat show in Boston this weekend. GW had a nice display with CCs, DCs and larger Expresses. No Walks at all. Prob best would be to go to a show look at similar size boats and add 30K more if the Gulf is a 3- piece boat (hull, liner and cabin). I believe it is.

better to look at yachtworld and/or boat trader for comps. what something cost when new is fairly irrelevant. current "expected" FMV will give you a better feel. also, i suggest you search GW for say 21 to 24 foot range and 2018 to 2021. good luck, ron

The list price in 2019 may not be relevant today. The prices of used boats went up as the prices of new boats went up due primarily to great demand and product shortages during Covid. The average price for a new boat last years was reported to be up 40% from pre pandemic pricing.
As the saying goes, a boat is worth what someone is willing to pay.
I don't know where you are located but if in a seasonal area, you will soon be entering the prime time for sellers and not so great a time for buyers.
I am seeing more boats listed recently but don't have access to actual sales data.

Is the boat being sold by the owner or by a broker?
( on a separate topic, joystick can add $20,000 list for the option)
listed for 169 right now, might come down to 160. still a bit much !
Is this the boat in Niantic CT?

ok; thank you for replying...

From my perspective, the "issue" is how well one is equipped versus the other. Higher HP motors, better electronics, full enclosure, trailer, etc., etc.

My advice would be to go in with your best offer less a few grand and then be ready, willing and able to sign on the dotted line if the offer is accepted.

Example: offer $150k and be willing to go to $153k

There is a point at which a few grand sort of just doesn't matter, as long as it's fully disposable funds. This is especially true if the boat is a 9.5 out of 10.

In 2019. A friend ordered a 2020 model for $200k and loaded up the gears & dealer installed for another $40K.

Sorry I missed the year - thought new boat.
Comps are the only way to verify. New boat prices have gone crazy so decent used boats carry higher prices. I'd give a fair counter and see where it goes. All it takes is one buyer who is willing to pay.
