Just a thought..
I have pondered the idea of trailering down to Cumberland for Sun Nite,Mon. and Tues. of next week. That would be the eve of the 7th, all day on the 8th and 9th.
I don't know how much time you spend down there, but if you happen to be there anyway, I would be happy to motor up to Connelly or Burnside or wherever.
We could hang for a bit and snap a couple shots of our rigs for the website.
I haven't decided yet myself..just thought I'd throw this at you..Or,heck, any Grady owner in that area.

Bill....Gulfstream 232..

Bill,
Sorry, I just saw your post today. I was down there last weekend for the Poker Run and it was quite a weekend! The poker run was over almost before it began. A 36' Skater w/ twin Sterling 1150 HP engines doing 130 MPH barrel rolled about three miles into the run. The driver was killed and the passenger was treated and released. Go to Lakecumberland.com for the details. They cancelled the rest of the run. It's been a bad couple of weeks @ Cumberland. A guy flipped a 36 Baja Labor Day Sunday @ ~2:00 AM by hitting Cemetary Island @ the mouth of Beaver Creek in the dark. He also died. Then a lady drowned @ the Pleasant Hill boat ramp Sunday afternoon ~ 4:00PM. The KDFWR has had their hands full! Hope you had a great time and all went well!

Chris;
No prob..We didn't go anyway, I had to get a couple pesky cabin leaks fixed on the 232..One around the dash panel and the other was water entering behind the fiberglass plate where the GPS and sounder is mounted.

Anyway, yeah, I read about all the carnage..Sad stuff. There is certainly a risk every time you get into that speed register that the Skater was at...As far as the Baja, that was preventable,as I'm sure you know...Possible drinking involved, high speed after dark...Sounds like from Lake Cumberland.com that the island came up on him suddenly..You know how deep it is close to shore everywhere down there....He suddenly saw the land, swerved to port and rolled it over as the hull contacted the rocks.

Apparently the dude was a good guy, well-liked..Such a bad situation.

We're thinkin' about goin' back this Sun-Mon-Tues,depending on what path Ike takes after it makes landfall.
