Received an invitation from Cataumet Marine to come and view their Cataumet Blue Grady. It looks just the like the one that is pictured by one of the members on this site. Big step by GW addding colors - wonder is it a dealer paint job - The inside looks white as opposed to GW off white so it might be a factory limited edition

Bayside Marine in Duxbury has a blue hulled 230. They were closed so I just saw it through the window so it must be something new they are trying

Our dealer had 2 blue hull gradys 2 years ago when we were shopping for ours. I would have bought one if they had a 225 that way. The Ray Hunt hull just looked SO sharp that way. These were custom awl-gripped by the dealer because he thought the local market would welcome them, which I think was true, as he sold them both that season.

I know alot of folks love the off-white and like the idea that all Gradys look that way - I can understand that argument too.

I talked to my dealer today- he said it is a new factory option- you can choose your own color- it is about $5000 more on the new 230

Companies always seem to come out with cool new options the year AFTER I buy!!!!!! That's pretty interesting though - we will have to see if it is a succesful program for them.

I could think of a whole bunch of other options I would choose before paying 5 K for a different color. It is nice looking though so I guess there are those willing to pay

Good point NEM......just wondering why the factory would choose to do all that prep work and actually paint over their white gelcoat when all they would need to do is change to the new drum of blue gelcoat when starting the build......unless its the local dealer doing the work.

The dealer said it was through the factory, so assume it would be ordered and be part of the building process- not after the fact

I know this dealer well and have seen the boat. It is very nice. It was ordered that way from GW I was told.

Grady is now offering colors but I couldn't get much in the way of details at the NYC show last night. Several dealers have been painting for years and whether factory Gradys will be paint or gel is one of (and a large one at that) details that were not disclosed. I sensed that this was a very recent decision so the word is not really out.
