No - good question though. Properly rigged, your charger should be wired directly to the battery terminals. The switch position doesn't affect it.
We purposely turn the battery switch to OFF at the end of the day - extra insurance IMO against something electrical being left on inadvertantly and draining the battery.

You may want to verify that your bildge pumps will operate with the switch off. I need the switch on for pumps to work, per GW setup.

Any boat builder worth their salt will wire one lead from the floats to constant hot so that the pumps WILL turn on with the batt switches off. Same goes with stereo memory, so you don't lose your station presets...

Any builder worth their salt will wire so all electrical power can be disconnected should the owner desire. My boat sits on a trailer and I completely isolate the batteries when not in use. The bilge switch has an 'auto' position wired thru the "C" terminal to allow for an automatic pump when I'm using the boat. And the only presets I'm concerned with are VHF ... :wink:

You should call them again because that is not the typical GW or most of the manufacturers, all bilge pumps are connected direct to the battery(ies).

Easy test with batt switches off, lift float my hand, does pump run ?
Test all pumps.
Pumps have indiviidual inline waterproof fuses and their own wire rig terminals to batts.
And feeds for memories, etc., need similar fuse
