Chesapeake Overnight Trip in a Hotel

The lady and I decided to get a tournament boat. But we are looking to take two overnight cruising trips this summer. The plan would be to launch the boat, travel for 4 or 5 hours, get a hotel on the water with a mooring, and return.

Can anyone suggest a trip itinerary? Does anyone know of a hotel like this on the Chesapeake?
 
Bay Trips

Depends where your going to lunch from. I like going from Pointlook Out and heading to Crisfield . I would stop at Smith and Tangier's island on my way there. Get a room at one of the many Bed and breakfasts. Then onward to Cape Charles Va. There you need to reseach the Hotels.

We are going to launch from somewhere between Richmond, VA and Virginia Beach. But I would like to see the eastern shore.
 
How about King's Mill in Williamsburg on the James River, nice run up the river, bring your golf clubs, free or half price dock space if you rent a room, I forget, you get a pass for pool, fitness center, nice weekend, eat at restaurant overlooking marina, cheers
