2001 GW Gulfstream 232. Looking for ideas or suggestions. This cockpit trim panel which holds the cup holder and has the windshield wiper - on mine, it’s falling apart. Last season mine had a structural crack. To keep from getting worse the marina slapped on a patch from the back. Probably some epoxy or some other “glop”. Seemed to work. It is still working. But now I have a hole about the size of a nickel punched straight thru. I suspect a worker on the boat had an “accident“, but don’t know for sure. It was there when I went to the boat first time this season.

I am pretty sure that I saw a thread here or somewhere else at one point but I can’t find it (been searching for 3 days). From what I recall, Grady doesn’t still have this part. Not surprising, the boat is more than 20 years old.

Any suggestion? Anybody deal with similar problem? One solution is to try and patch more and reinforce from the rear. That’s the obvious. The easiest would be replacement with another panel. So if anyone has a creative idea on where to get one, I’d really appreciate thoughts. FWIW, boat is on Cape Cod. Also, not my picture but wanted to show the specific area of damage.
Thank you!

That sounds familiar! As I had said in my post, I have been searching all weekend, to no avail. If anyone has a link, it would be helpfu. Thanks

Unfortunately, these are the things we have to deal with when we have older boats - plastic gets old and brittle, things break, etc, etc. Just part of the game! :)

You likely aren't going to find a new one - well, a "good" used one, anyways. And even then - you'll be in the same situation.

Search around your area for a good fiberglass shop - try custom audio installers, as well - they can make a new one using your old one as a mold.

Also try Teak Isle Manufacturing - they make things like this out of HDPE - whether they have one already available or not, I don't know. But you may be able to send it to them to duplicate out of HDPE.

With your current one, though, if you want to keep it, you're just going to have to keep putting bandaids on it. It's at its' end of life ;)
