Corrosion cleaning

I have a 1997 225T. Some of the plated surfaces(engine throttle handle, shower nozzle)are corroded. I have a dremel which I believe will remove the corrosion. My question is what to put on the bare metal surface to make it look good and not corrode?

Woody Wax works great. A friend of mine uses it, and it comes up really nice.
