Did some searching on here and could not find much. What exactly does the CV2 hulls have different than the older ones. Deadrise? Thanks

SeaV2 is a variable deadrise design introduced on the first 280 Marlin in 1989. Other hulls were remolded in various subsequent years. There is a good explaination on the GW website

I don't know the technical answer, but I can tell you that it was designed by C. Raymond Hunt & Assoc which practically invented the deep V hull. One of the reasons I bought the Grady was that it put my Boston Whaler to shame as far as the ride goes. There was no comparison as to how the two boats handled rough water and I was very happy w/ Whalers for for 21 years. But no more!

Yes, there is...

Imo, the CV2 was an excellent improvement. It's not a "hard core" deep V, (still modified) but it's deep enough, (especially the forward entry) to improve rough water handling. Definitely cuts through moderate head seas with less pounding, yet it doesn't compromise stability at rest, so it won't roll as bad as a true "deep V".

But...

I had 4 pre CV2's and loved em. If I came across one, in really good shape, it wouldn't prevent me from getting it. Nothing wrong with the performance of the older one's, you just have to do a serious inspection, (get a survey).

Basically on the seaV2 hull there are no flat spots making for a softer and dryer re-entry. As simple as I can put it.

I believe the 22 was changed in 1992 or 1993, not sure which but it was in that period. We bought our 1989 22 off a Grady dealer, it was his persoanl boat and he was upgrading to a 22 with the SV2 hull, we bought in spring 1993 from him, a month before his came in. Boy what a deal he gave us...sure wish we could get a boat at that mark down again.

Cant see pic here at work. Does it have a bracket. I thought the CV2 hull was 1992 and greater.

I will keep it in mind. Not willing to pay that for not having a bracket, and a pre cv2 hull. Shoot me a PM and tell me your best price. Thanks
Getting some boats lined up so if I drive up north or down south I can bring a boat back.
