Happy weekend-- probably the most noob question ever posted on this forum...

I have a new to me 99 Voyager with original main and aux fuel tanks. The aux tank is in the cockpit (forward) and the main tank is under the main deck (aft). However, I am unsure as to the the order of the adjacent factory installed deck fill ports on the starboard rail. I BELIEVE it is correct that the forward port fills the main tank and the after port fills the aux. This is opposite to the fore/aft layout of the tanks.

My complication in diagnosing this issue on my own is that 1) some idiot (me) replaced the tank selector y-valve aft without properly labeling the hoses so it is ambiguous which tank I'm drawing from and b) both fuel senders on the aux and main tank are shot, so I don't have any information on the fuel tanks actual fuel level. I'm trying to avoid pulling the main deck hatch if I can avoid it since there is an after-market bait tank installed right in the middle of it.

Sigh... This is all very embarrassing. Thanks for your help, if anyone out there knows the factory lay out of the deck fill ports on a 99 voyager, I'd much obliged.

Generally the fills are in the same order as the tanks. To me that makes sense since the fill hoses don't need to cross each other under the gunnel or deck.

Thanks, seasick. Makes sense to me too. But not what the last owner told me, of course. Then again, they didn't seem to know much about anything when it came to this boat...

My logic makes sense but it could still be wrong. Making sure which tank is which should be simple. If you pull the deck plates over the senders, there should be a data plate or decal on the tank.
If the tanks are different capacity, pick the filler that you think is aux and fill the tank. If you gas gauges work, it is even easier to figure out what fill goes to what tank. Note the gauge levels for both tanks; pick a filler and add 20 gallons of gas. Check the gauges again. One should have a higher reading.

Thanks again seasick... Unfortunately the senders don't work, but i'll figured out how to sleuth it out.
