Just wondering if anybody knows a place where i can purchase a code reader or the diagnostic software for my 2003 200 Yamaha HPDI? Or is this equipment only available to dealers. Any help greatly appreciated. THANKS.

Not sure, but maybe, if the plug-in connector is the same as a car, you may be able to use one from your local Advanced Auto Parts or Auto Zone and the reader will give you a function code....then you'll need decode the number, ex, code b24, using the Yamaha book or customer service at your dealer.

Outboards are still propriety, too bad not like cars. Hence the high cost of package.
Yamaha's package is software and connecting cabling / hardware for a UBS port to computer the other end is an existing 3 point connector on motor, on starboard side.
And the manual descibes the different procedures and meaning of the fault codes.
The dealer uses same setup.
