pull the access panel in the cabin (4 screws in my chase 273) then reach up and pull out the stainless steel lock pin on the post that raises the box.
you will then be able to access the the push rod mechanism... a little oil/grease and a "push/pull" while pressing the raise/lower switch should get it working again, at least in my experience.
