I have a 1990 252 sailfish (bracket) with twin 200 Yamaha HPDI's. The engines did not come with the boat. Since the engines are on a Grady Bracket, I'm wondering how high to mount them. I understand where to mount when they are on the transom. I'm thinking they should mount slightly higher since they are on a bracket. Also, the engines came with Stiletto 14 1/4 x 19 SS Advantage II props (from smaller boat). I was wondering if others with the sailfish are running 17 pitch to get the RPMs right. I have just now finished putting the boat together and will have 1st water test soon. Thanks for the help.

I have a '91 with a diferent bracket. The motor's all the way down, if I bring them up it will be 1 hole. The props are 14 1/4 x 19's. Heavily loaded they reach 5400, lightly loaded 5500. If I ever get now props it will be 15 x 17's Mercs (they're either 15 1/2 or 1/4 not sure). If you already have props run them and see how she performs, otherwise you're shooting in the dark. Now if they were 14x15 or 14x21 or 23 there would be issues.

Grady's recommendation was the motor all the way down in last (upper)motor bracket holes. Doesn't matter for HPDIs, same as original Carb motors.
