Engine size-ex manifold

I have a 77 Grady w/a cuddy. Trying to determine exactly what engine is in it. Its a 4 cy merc with an alpha 1. My exaust manifold is different from any in the clymer book. Un fortunatly its for merc 86-94. Would appreciate any help. Thanks :?:

Not sure but guessing it is a GM 4 cylinder. In Michigan it was called the "Iron Duke". Probably in the area of 120 HP.

If I remember correctly the engine was first designed for the first GM front wheel drive cars back in the mid/late 1970s and was made in Pontiac. MI.

Could it be a GM when it says Mercrusier in the valve cover?

yes

Mercrusier doesnt make the engines.

they just adapt other compaines engines to thier drives
