I am a newbie to this site with a recently purchased GW Freedom 285 from FishTale Boats in Ft. Myers, FL. (Great boat and great GW dealer.) I appreciate the helpful threads.
Just thought I would share a home-made device that I made for the aft insulated fish box to make it less of an ice hog when I use it for a cooler. I first made a pattern/template of cardboard conformed to the contours of the fish box and used the pattern to cut the ice barrier from a large plastic cutting board, used stainless steel bolts to attach the ice barrier and support end to a FastCap 3 Little Hand HD 3rd Hand Support System (adjusts 16.5" to 23.5" depending on the amount of ice and beverages to go in the fish box).
To keep ice water from draining out, I use a 6" silicone drain stopper over the drain hole.
The system works great and the ice has lusted for 2-3 days in the fish box. (Of course the easy solution is to drop a cooler bag in the fish box if only needing drinks for 1 or 2 people.) Don't worry...the beer is below the water bottles in the photo ;-)
