Just got back Saturday from a nice vacay in the Fla panhanle. Went fishing offshore 4 times. Never got skunked, had a decent trip, kids enjoyed the bite when it was on. There were no weedlines within 100 miles of the coast according to charter boat guys I spoke with. Normally, the weed lines are within 30 or 40 miles of the coast there. My hopes were to catch a bunch of dolphin wahoo or get lucky and get a tuna here or there. Not a big bottom bumper.

Trip 1 July 5, seas 2-3 took my BIL and 4 kids. Went 33 miles off the buoy line off the Cape. Landed 1 37" king, a little tuny, 3 or 4 knock downs.

Trip 2 July 6 went to a wreck, the Mica trolled it, got nothing then went 12 miles south of that to the madison swanson protected bottom fish area trolled it and got a cuda.

Trip 3 July12 took the advice of the folks at the Blue Water Outriggers in Pt. St. Joe and fished the buoy line, scored 3 kings with 1 being 40" where my 13 yro daughter brought the fish in and 5 spanish all around 24", 2 knock downs and 1 potential wahoo.

Trip 4 July 14 hit the line again, 3 kings and 2 spanish, 1 chicken dolphin and a huge wahoo  , but it does not count because we never got it on the boat before it broke off.

Took my kids night fishing in St. Joe Bay caught a ton of sharks, lady fish and grunts...

Can't wait to take the boat back to the Keys...

Just thought I would let you know that I have fished the areas that you fished off San Blas. I usually fish more to the southeast. On a recent visit to the historic Mica(sunk by a German submarine during WWII) after a couple of trolling passes to scope out the bottom, we made a drift over her and came out the other side with three hooked up at once. Boated all three, two Amberjacks 30# 25# and one nice Red Snapper 15# A good pass as the dive boats work that one over pretty often. We usually don't get too close to the closed area as Big Brother is watching you!(I have heard stories of several instances of missteps here that resulted in serious consequences)
