I have a Freedom 215 that I purchased new in 2018. We love the boat, but we really wish it had an anchor roller and windlass. We are considering moving up to a Freedom 235 just for that option. Before I do that I am curious if anyone has added an anchor roller and windlass to their Freedom 215? I talked to Grady and they said structurally there is no problem. They advise against it because of the angle of the anchor locker would probably cause the chain and rope to tangle. This would not be an issue for me. I am only going to use this setup in shallow (sandy) bottoms and have a sea claw anchor that holds fine without chain. If I was going out further, I would detach from the windlass and use rope and chain (but that is the very rare exception for how we use the boat).
