THOUGHT I WOULD ASK THE FORUM WHAT THEY WOULD DO.

MY FUEL GAGES NO LONGER WORK ON MY 1998 GULFSTREAM. BOTH TANKS ARE LOCKED AT VARIOUS LEVELS. I AM THINKING THAT THE MOST PRACTABLE AND RELIABLE REPAIR WOULD BE TO PURCHASE A FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM RATHER THAN REPLACE THE TANK PROBES. AFTER LOOKING AT SOME OLD POSTS IT SEEMS THAT REPLACEING THE PROBES COULD RUN HALF THE COST OF A FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?

The fuel management system measures the fuel burn and total usage at the motor, much more accurate than the fuel gauge. Also, the instant gph is very helpful in fine tuning when running

I agree, if my tank gauges were to quit I would probably just leave them alone and install the fuel management gauge. Much more accurate and much more $$$.

It's nor a hard job to replace the sending units. I've done both on mine. Go to this site --- Best sender's I've found to-date and not expensive.

I have a 92 Gal and 56 Gal tanks and both took the 14' SSL if I remember coreectly. Just be sure that the tanks are below 1/2 full before you pull the old senders. The units appear to be muti-postional but they ARE NOT!
The new sender MUST go in the same way the old one was installed for the holes to line up properly.
