Does this pump take the place of a primer bulb. I have 1997 250 Yamaha ox66's. Should I run these after changing the fuel/water filter. I filled the new filters prior to installation.

You mean electric primers in boat? You have two?
Then if yes is the answer, it saves a trip to the stern to squeeze the bulb, in place of a bulb.

It's a very low pressure pump with a bypass loop, can't do any damage, hold it about 10 second per side.

If you have a fuel flow meter, turn it on and you can watch when the flowe zeros and thus the engine is primed. If not flow the 10 second rule is good, I can always here the pump for the first motor and tell when it primed base don sound. jh
