Gas spring on kill tank

I have an older 228G (99 model) and she doesn't have gas springs on the kill tanks to hold the lids up when opened.
I know the later models have them, post 03-04 I think.
I want to fit S/S gas springs on mine , if anyone that has a late model 228 G would be kind to measure the gas spring and give me the measurement extended and retacted it would be much apriciated , the pressure strength would be nice as well if its on the strut.

Does anyone know if the livewell gas strut is the same length? They look a bit longer in pictures but hard to tell. I know the livewell is 7.5", mine came with one on the livewell lid, not S/S but I replaced it with S/S.
It doesn't have to be 228 , 226 is the same.
