I ran the generator for a couple of hours this weekend and now I have black exhaust around all over the euro transom section and around the thru hull. Any suggestions for a good cleaner to get the black off and then reduce its accumulation in the future (i.e. best coating wax or other material to make it wash off easier in the future). I just polished my hull so I am pretty suprised how stuck the discoloration is on the hull. Thanks.

EL, best way to keep the soot from sticking is to use Rejex type of wax. it really is an acrylic coating and not a wax. It was developed for coating jet airplanes so the exhaust soot didn't stick to the paint or metal.
Put two coats on and then the soot will just wash off with soap and water.

The more I read about rejex the more it seems like great stuff. I used some some cleaner to get the exhaust off, but it clearly took of the wax so now I have to put on a protective coating. I am going to get some Rejex and get to work on the hull and other areas. Thanks for the tip.

El, Wax is for those who like to work on their boat. My two coats of rejex still bead up after 5 months of weather here in south FL.
I buy it by the gallon on ebay, same as corrosion X. Both are made by same company I think.

Got it Delta. So, how do you put it on in the summer time. Doesn't it have to be under 85. Seems like that would be a problem for us in the summer time? Also, do I have to do any prep on the surface, like take off existing wax or polish? Thanks.
