If you have trouble, go to www.myfoxboston.com. Type Marshfield in the search bar and click the link on the stolen fuel. My boat is kept 2 down from where the theft occurred. You can see a coupe of shots of the boat in the slip and leaving the harbor as well - I know a shameless plug and taking advantage of someone elses trouble. Just happened to be leaving when it was being filmed. Notice the new hardtop outriggers that were just installed - just need to rig....

I recall seeing stolen kickers, batteries, props, VHf radios, and the like in my day, why bother with that stuff now?

The marinas have to get security cameras and digital recorders like DVRs. The technology has improved with good low light night vision and major price drops.

You may even get one for your own boat with a wide angle view -mount off radar tower or rocket launcher area just under hard top overhang.
People are using these cameras to bag baby sitters watching them on their PCs at work. I have a buddy at work that set one up looking at his driveway, cop neighbor's kid driving up his driveway when he's at work, bagged him, cop dad confronted with evidence. End of story.

If the thief boat pulled into an empty slip to act un-noticed, a locking gas cap aint goint to stop them on a Grady, wouldn't me, wouldn't even bother, just go right to engine feeds or to racors at stern service area, or selector valves, and cut a hose and use a straight nipple splice fitting, no brainer, one-two-three.

In my boat, it is not likely a siphon hose is going to readily clear 90 deg tight elbow on tank top of both main and aux, without much fiddling and cusing. And it has a long way to go to get there especially aux. Usually end of siphon has rigid poly section to keep it from rolling over with rubber to rubber contact, no good for my tanks.

Once these guys get the fuel in their boat, there is no evidence fuel was someone else's. They have to be caught red-handed, be it eyeball, or video. Video evidence proves it.

These guys are likely selling fuel, so they have plenty of customers looking for more ''midnight discount fuel", truck drivers too. They may well be armed too, I would be. If you see it, call police, news channels, and marine police, coast guard, and say the act is in progress, let them stay there, you keep quiet. He he he.

On another note,
Grady looked good in video!
