Hi there I just picked up a 1994 192 it never had a ski pylon originally installed. But the seller had a fixed pylon from a grady 205 that he included in the sale. I see that grady included these with some of the 192's over the years. Would anyone out there have a photo of how they were installed from the factory? I've got the floor flange. But am curious what grady used for an upper support where it passes through the cutting board? I can fabricate something up but would love to see how the factory did it.

Any insight would be much appreciated.. Thanks

If the Grady 205 ski pylon doesn't work for you I'm looking for one. Thanks

It’s gonna make sure it works. Here’s a couple photos I’ve found that show it mounted. IMG_9935.pngIMG_9936.png

I don't think your photos are of a 205 Freedom. Might be a Tournament (pre 2006)

The questions to figure out... and you should be able to check on this by inspecting your boat... Based on all other ski pylons I have ever seen, there is reinforcing built into to both the top and lower mounting locations. Does your boat have that already?

This is a VERY serious thing - if that is not mounted 100% secure, it can become a missle aimed directly at the skier.

Side note... many ski pylons are specifically rated NOT for tubing and often have stickers right on them saying so. Tubing actually puts a lot more stress on the pole/mounts than skiing. IF this was a Grady installed pylon... what is rated for? It might be best to reach out to Grady for this answer.

Another option for you... Turbo Swing. It's the best thing on the market for outboard boats.

Your correct the photos are off a 192 that’s what I’m trying to mount it on also.

As far as re-enforcement is concerned that’s what i’m hoping to get an idea of what grady did when they installed this pylon at the factory. If anyone has any photos of what if any re-enforcement if any they did where the pylon passes through the cutting board I that’s what I was hoping to see.

Definitely don’t want it to rip off. And would just tube off the transom and a bridal to keep it safe.
