I recently purchased a 96' 232,2007 F250 Yammie (love it) and the PO has a freshwater hose connected to the stb wiper. You turn on the fresh water pump and it washes the window... kind of nice. But, if you use the freshwater pump for other applications it simply free-flows over the window. seems strange.

It this a factory item ? (everything else in the boat is otherwise unmolested)

Thanks for your help !

don't know about the '96, but on my '02 and '09, there is a small knob under the helm that controls the wiper flow. it's actually a valve knob. good luck, ron

I have a '97 with wipers and have never seen a valve or tried the fresh water pump at the same time the wipers are on. I need to look in to this as there have been numerous times I would have loved to have clean water on the windshield.

Ahhh ha. I will look for a valve under the helm. That would make sense. My next step was to install one.

Thanks !

My guess is the valve to run the wiper spay is stuck open. On my Sailfish it is a small white plastic knob to the right of the helm controls. Water pressure has to be on to work but it should not spray unless you turn the valve on.
