Hi, I have a 2014 Gulfstream on order and could use some info. on transducer placement. Looking at an Airmar SS-264W. Usually fish in water no more the 100' deep. Transducer will be used with a GSD24 and a Garmin 6212. Any other hints regarding the electronics install would also be appreciated. Will be moving a Garmin GMR24-HD and a GXM-51 from current boat. 6212 will be a new unit. Boat will be kept on a trailer so roller location will also influence the transducer location. Anyone using a single 200 MHz SS264W? Thinking I might not need the 50 MHz as I never seem to fish that deep. Boat will be used 95% inshore around Long Island NY.

why not an inhull? i had a p79 in mine that worked fine. with the newer sounder, an m260 would probably be great. no holes and no trailer to worry about. good luck, ron

I agree with going with a shoot-thru. There might even be a flat spot on the bilge floor that's meant for this purpose - although I believe you'd need to do a thru-hull for that because of the thickness (which is no big deal). Concerning a transom-mount, I thought Grady recommended right next to the garboard drain plug with a twin-engine? I don't have a picture in front of me to look, but I can't imagine there being enough room to the outboard side of one of the engines since you'll run into the tabs pretty quickly. Maybe check with your dealer or Grady.
