Heading to Port A in a bit. Will post videos of us either fishing, or making a roadside bonfire.. lol

Will post a link to a live youtube stream if we are able to do so.

Everything is looking good. Weather could not be better.

Cross your fingers and toes! lol

Good luck Russ. I'm sure everything will be great. We're all on this journey with you. Can't wait to hear how everything goes.

Made it here. Starboard engine will not engage. I can put it in gear but no bite. It may just be because I did not give it much throttle, we will test it in the morning, but the other worked fine.

We will see. Either way, we are here. Trailer was fine.

Good news for sure!!

Bad news: once the shift engages it either is working or not, has nothing to do with rpm's on throttle. Hopefully it is a Russ fatigue issue.

Enjoy Port Aransas, used to take our Boy Scout Troop in Austin fishing there once a year and camped on Goose Island State Park.

Well, may get it working but right now, just tired. If this is not an easy fix, as soon as I get home, I am selling this boat for what I owe and buying something else. I have reached the end of my patience with this boat.

Will decide tomorrow.

As I recall, you replaced the water pumps at some point. Probably did not get the shift shaft right when the lower unit went back on. Should be an easy fix on the trailer. Drop it down, line it up, and re-bolt.

I know, just mad right now. Trying to figure out how to salvage this trip. We are here, just need to treat it like a floating hotel. If I can find someone local that will do a 100hr maintenance on the boat this week, I will have BOTH engines done, oil, impeller, all of it, and done right.

Just need to find someone able to do it all. Will see who is available.

Till then, down to a single engine and hoping that is enough to go a few hundred yards to the jetties to take the kids fishing. We will see. Otherwise, all we have is a 23ft Parker a friend parked w slips down and I doubt he can fit 3 adults and 2 kids plus himself on it.

Who knows.

There are a few techs local. If I can get the boat to them this morning, maybe they can replace both pumps and impellers better than me and get us back on the water tonight. We will see. Seems to me it would be an easy fix, so crossing my fingers.

The good news.....the boat floated and did not sink lol.

I sent my buddy out fishing with another friend that had his boat here, so I do not feel guilty. Wife and kids and I are waiting another hour and then will call around for someone to replace both water pumps and impellers. Once that is done, I have to find someone to help me launch and dock as my wife is not.......not.....a boat or trailer person heh, and I have to work the boat. I think the dock/slip people may assist.

Then, we can go fish....so, all goof.

Russ, I bought a boat in Port Aransas a few years ago and had the engines checked out at Rockport marine 361-729-7820. They are a few miles North on Hwy 35. I think they open at 8AM. They seemed like nice folks so if they can't get to you they may be able to give you a lead. Good Luck.

Sorry to hear Russ. Been routing for you. I hope it is an easy fix and you get some boat time.

Just dropped her off at Aransas Auto and Marine. Everyone was booked 2-4 weeks out. These guys said, “Bring it over” and they moved a boat out of the way and are replacing the entire water pump, impeller, gear, lube, oil....works, plus adding a replacment trim switch on the engine missing the button, all for 741, and done by 12. Can’t ask for better than that.

So, life will be fine.

You never tested the water pumps after you installed them? Do your self a big favor if you don't already have, get a big water trough that you can run your engines in. You be glad you did.

The tech was busy. They were closing. Owner said all he knows is they fixed the issue and both engines work well now.
