Hi,

My GW has Pompanette helm seats. They are a wonderful product but the arms, which seem more like a rubber than vinyl, get very dirty very quickly and are very difficult to clean. Does anyone have any tips for protecting the arms or for cleaning? Is there any sort of cloth arm cover available?

Thanks,

Larry

Are they dirty or are they discolored and flaking?

If its the latter, its because Pompanette made some defective ones that, when they came in contact with suntan lotion, would fall apart. The good news is a quick call to your dealer and he can order you a free replacement arm set. The new ones glue right over the old ones and work perfectly.

Grady is aware that some of their Pompanette helm chairs do have that problem. The plastic pivoting arms appear to become very dirty, but simply will not respond to any type of cleaning.
Suggest you contact your Grady dealer for their advise, and possibly their assistance in contacting Grady.

My husband HATES the armrests - claims they get in the way. He wants to replace the entire seat. Is there a way to just remove the arms ?

Take the seats off the pedestals and flip them over. The entire arm rest assembly is held on by a handful of screws.
