Has anybody changed out the helm seats on their Sailfish? Mine squeak like crazy, I've tried to grease them, removed grease, tightened, loosened, adjusted, etc. but to no avail and those armrests can be a pain at times for sure, easy to rip a shirt on. I noticed that they incorporated a flip up arm rest on the '06 year. I fished recently on my buddy's Scout 28 Abaco and his seats are stationary so they don't swivel but they are built more like a bolster and seemed very secure. Just wondering, I'm sure the cost may be more than I want to spend but curious what others thought.

many models have a replaceable bushing between the seat and the pedestal. you may want to check that for the squeak. i prefer the swivel seat compared to the scout set up so that at anchor i can swivel around and put my feet up. just my $.02

I don't have a Sailfish but couldn't imagine having a non swivelling seat. we spend a lot of time on the troll and like to be able to swing my feet around to the side bench and watch the baits......
We have a plastic/nylon bushing on the slider under the helm seat which wears and causes us some grief......

I had the same issue on Gulfstream and Sailfish-the dealer has a flat plastic bushing as mentioned earlier that will fix the problem - as I recall there are two sized so bring the diameter of you seat pedestal.

Ron, I hear ya!

I hate the seat on my Sailfaish. It's the Pompenette ladder back with the fixed armrests. I feel it's too far forward even all the way back. I was thinking about looking into some sort of a bolster instead. I remember seeing one that flipped up as a seat and down as a leaning post. It was a wide unit on a center console. I'd be interested in some sort of custom made unit if anyone knows of a company that makes such a unit. And on the port side I would change to the companion seat in a heartbeat if someone wants to get rid of one.

I'm thinking more of a custom made single leaning post without the rocket launchers that most have. I'm not really sure. Has anyone done anything like this?

My seats are the upgraded grady version-- and there are nylon bushings that are in the slides....L shaped pieces that run the length of the bracket...

Can Grady order me these? Mine are cracked and sliding the seat is hard to do...and noisy....

BTW - not meaning to hijack this thread.....
