Old truck: WAS using a ballmount with a 3/4" rise (or a 2" drop if turned around). Old truck is gone....

New truck: 2 1/2" higher to the ballmount receiver. Question: Can I use the same ballmount by turning it around to the 2" drop and still keep the trailer level?

When manufacturers talk about drop / rise, where are the measurements taken?

Ball Mount

Yes you can flip them over - that how you get a receiver with a drop/rise. Measure from the top of the square tube receiver to the top of the ball mounting surface.

Flip the old ball and mount over. Put the boat on the new truck and see how much it drops from the tongue weight. Sounds like your close.

If you buy a new one be careful to get one to match the towing weight. The common ones are only rated for 5,000 lbs.
