Arrived in Fla last Friday with great expectations for fishing. Just replaced both tilt/trim motors, impellers, trim tab pump, throttle remote and a few smaller items. Met by a hurricane whose name I still cannot pronounce and more troubling a steering fluid leak of significant proportion. When last placed on the lift all was good. There are no leaks at the helm or transom. I have had my head in the bilge for countless hours and never came out feeling like a greased pig, this time I could not get in the shower fast enough when done. The fluid is coming from the pvc conduit used to convey wire, cables, and of course the copper lines for steering fluid. The mechanic who did the work fished the throttle cables and the trim pump wire harness via this pipe. I guess the old corroded copper was damaged during the passage of the new items. Anyone else had this experience? Plan is to pull out copper and pass flexible lines in their place. Which does not seem to be an easy repair.

Field replaceable fittings for SeaStar 5/16ID hose

Parker 2TFMS-6-5B Reusable Fitting for SeaStar I got them on ebay from copano

You can get pairs of hoses pre-made to length with crimped fittings. On e bay I used Surplus Unlimited of daytona.

idk if you have autopilot.
There's not much diffference in price of long hoses vs 2 footers. Its the ends that cost money.
You can buy extra long hoses with ends then cut to make your short hoses. Fish them thru the pvc before you put the new end on.

Also...fish them thru the bulkhead at the motor before putting the end on!!!
