Yes, transom may be an issue, if it has not be redone, I'd have it surveyed for sure, also walk the deck checking for soft spots, if there are they need to be recored. I'd also have that engines check for sure, a tech may be able to tell you how many hours are on the engines, but being the original engine the computer in it may not be sophisticated enough to do so. I'd have that engine compression tested without a doubt, if you do not, you could ne walking into an engine that may require a rebuild or repower if it has compression problems, that is a tell tale sign. Buying a boat of that age, I'd recommend a marine surveyor for the hull and an engine tech to check the engine out, well worth the money, if you don't, the boat could be a nightmare. Before you get a surveyor, do your own walk of the boat and check the transom, if it has bulges, the metal trim is pitted badly and corroding, or the thru hulls are cracked, chances are there may be transom problems or that they have begun to develop and are not bad yet, either way it is something to be aware of.
