Anyone ever do a refit? I have a 2005 265 Express that's starting to show her age, especially with electrical and water lines. Recently read an article about someone in Maryland that had their boat refit with new lines, wiring, electronics, cushions, etc. Wanted to see if there was someone closer to me that can do that kind of work. I don't have the time or the know how to do all that kind of work, and wouldn't mind it being done while she's laid up for the winter. Cost aside, I love this boat and would have a hard time letting her go and buying newer.

I've been refitting my 2000 265 myself. If I was paying myself hourly I would be able to retire early...;)

Make a list, separate projects, prioritize, read & research things, do things you can handle, pay an expert when it makes sense.

IMO, if you own an old boat you need to know how it works and doing things yourself teaches you that.
You should be capable of troubleshooting 12v problems and stripping a wire and crimping a proper connector.

Things like new switch panels can be bought from New Wire Marine...they advertise here
The "wiring" is generally protected on these boats. There is not a reason to replace complete harnesses. Rewiring batteries and battery switches is a good idea.
The fuse blocks in the hardtop and under the dash are old and should be replaced(both of mine had "cooked" and/or "green" fuse slots)
