We trailered our 282 from Santa Cruz CA to San Carlos MX. It's about 1300 miles each way. We launched there and went across the Gulf of California and worked our way South to Loreto. We caught dorado although on the small side. We caught wahoo (49" was the biggest) off of Catlin Isl. and lots of bottom fish such as pargo and cabbrea and grouper.
Our friend Ron(282 also) got ito some pretty big blue marlin about 30 nm North of Carmen Isl. He released two about 450# and had a much larger one for about 2 hours and lost it. The water temp ranged from a low of 78 to a high of 83 F.
In the same area this summer we were into over a dozen stripe marlin and sails ranging up to about 140# and lots of dorado in the high 30's.
